Spring is time for Sanremo Rally! And this year an ECO rally too

The City of Flowers is preparing to host its annual car race event from April 7th to 9th. In addition to the "63rd Sanremo Rally", valid for the Italian national rally championship, the "31st Sanremo Historic Rally", the "30th Coppa dei Fiori", and the traditional "8th Sanremo Rally Legend", this year a new innovative race will take place, the "1st Eco Sanremo Rally", the race for alternative energy powered vehicles.

63rd Sanremo Rally – It is the second round for the Italian Rally Championship with both riders aiming toward the big award and young hopefuls competing for the Junior award.

After a shakedown to test race cars in San Romolo on Thursday, April 7th, the rally will start at Piazzale Adolfo Rava on Friday, April 8th at 12:32pm for Race 1, ending on Saturday, April 9th at Palafiori at 12:18am. A few hours of sleep before the departure of Race 2 (Palafiori, 6:18pm Saturday, April 9th) ending the same day at 4pm, in Piazzale Adolfo Rava.

Race 1 takes place over a distance of 192.93 km, 79.34 km of which divided into six special stages.

Race 2 is 331.15 kilometers, 79.56 of which timed sections of the five special stages.
Registration for the rally is closing on Tuesday, March 29th.

31st Sanremo Historic Rally - It is also a second round in the 2016 calendar, after the Rally Costa Brava (Spain) valid for the continental award scheduled. Historic vehicles will also perform a shakedown in San Romolo from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on Thursday. Two stages are scheduled for the Historic Rally: the first, starting from the old station at 3:47pm on Friday, April 8th ending in Piazza Borea d'Olmo at 9:37pm after covering 147.17 km, 67.52 of which divided into six special stages; the second, leaving San Remo at 8.40am on Saturday morning to face another 328 km of the race, 84,92 of which are six special stages. A traditional buffet takes place in Imperia, at 2pm at Olio Carli company. The winner will be celebrated at 6:38pm on the stage at the Old Station in Sanremo.

Registration for this rally as well is closing on Tuesday, March 29th. Admitted cars to the car must be built between 1949 and 1990.

30th Coppa dei Fiori - As old as the Historic Rally, this regularity race brings to Sanremo crews from fifteen countries and dream cars of great historical and collectible value. The race is the second round of the European Championship Regularity Historic Cars and the fourth of the Italian Championship. Only cars built until 1990 are admitted to the race, which follows the itinerary of the Historic Rally, ending on Saturday, April 9th at 2.20pm in Piazzale Adolfo Rava. Anyone wishing to see technical and administrative checks of these jewels can attend on Friday, April 8th from 8am to 12pm at Sanremo Palafiori.

8th Sanremo Legend – It is the "light" version of the Ligurian race - this year valid for the new Regional Championship – which allows crews that do not have the chance to face the big rally to run on the specials of Sanremo Rally. As for the main rally, registration is closing on Tuesday, March 29th. 8th Sanremo Legend departs on April 9th at 7.40am and finish line at 5:56om in Piazzale Adolfo Rava. Sanremo Legend is 358.12 km, 69.80 of which divided into six special stages.

1st Sanremo Eco Rally – It represents the great novelty for 2016! The competition is open only to alternative energy cars (electric, hybrid, LPG, methane, hydrogen). The race runs on a 195.17 km route; competitors will depart at the Old Sanremo Station on Friday, April 8th at 5:43pm and arrive at the same place at 2:41pm on Saturday.
