Chagall: "Colour and magic ": fairy tales and poetry on show in Asti [Video & photo gallery]

After the highly appreciated stage in Seoul at the M Contemporary Museum, the exhibition "Chagall, colour and magic" arrives for the first time at the Palazzo Mazzetti in Asti with a large selection of over 150 works including paintings, drawings, watercolors and engravings by one of the most beloved artists of the twentieth century.

This is an exceptional exhibition born thanks to the new collaboration between Arthemisia and the Municipality of Asti. 

The exhibition itinerary investigates unprecedented aspects of Chagall's life and poetics through unpublished works from important and inaccessible private treasures.

Exposed at Palazzo Mazzetti there are works of various eras of Chagall's life: it starts from his first works of the 20s, it continues with the traumatic escape from Europe during the Second World War up to the last years of the life of the artist, spent in the United States. The one represented in the works of Marc Chagall is a world full of wonder and marvel. In his works coexist memories of childhood, fairy tales, poetry, religion and war depicted through a universe of brightly colored dreams, intense shades that give life to landscapes populated by characters, real or imaginary, that crowd in the artist's imagination. The works reproduce a dreamlike imaginary in which it is difficult to understand the boundary between reality and dream, the same world that Chagall depicts in his books of etchings.

With over 150 works, an exhibition itinerary divided into 7 sections and curated by Dolores Durán Úcar, Palazzo Mazzetti awaits you to let you admire the magical universe created by this great artist. an excellent reason for a trip to Asti, isn't it?
