Zipline: fly hanging from a wire in the mountains of Piedmont

In Piedmont, a few kilometers away from Verbania and more precisely in the Intrasca Valley, there is the Zipline, a spectacular attraction that will allow you to experience the thrill of flying having in front the magnificent panorama of Lake Maggiore and all around the very green and lush valley.

The Zipline consists of a steel rope suspended between two points that are located at different heights to which one hooks to make a fast descent diving to plunge like a hawk.

The 1,850 meter long steel cable connects Pian d’Arla (1307 meters high) to Alpe Segletta where the arrival point is located. Once you reach the arrival station you will receive the necessary harness and you will be taken with a shuttle to the starting point of Pian d’Arla. Once there, the flight controllers will verify that the harness is worn correctly, they will take care to hook the trolley firmly to the cable and then you can take off. Flying at over 120 km / h, firmly attached to the steel cable, you will travel the 2 kilometers separating the two points in just over a minute and a half. At the end of the course an automatic braking system is positioned which guarantees a gentle landing on the arrival platform.

For your flight over the lands of the Intrasca Valley you have two options to choose from:

Free Style Flight: if you want to fly like a swallow in the air this is the style that is right for you. You will be hooked frontally with free arms and legs. If you take your hands off the anchor cable, you will be able to make changes and live this experience in total freedom.

Falcon Style Flight: You will feel like a dive-falcon hooked backwards face down with your arms and legs in an aerodynamic position for maximum speed. If you love the thrill of speed this is the style for you as you will go from 0 to over 120 km / h in a few seconds.

Unlike other adrenal activities such as hang-gliding or paragliding, the Zipline is within everyone's reach as it does not require any special equipment, skill or preparation. In short, it could be an excellent solution for those who want to experience a strong emotion ... but not too much!
