Menton: exhibition "Lovers of Jean Cocteau" [Video]

Faithful in love and friendship, Jean Cocteau has often dealt with the theme of lovers, through his vision of the couple, that of the engaged couple (in the marriage hall of Menton) and the newlyweds (in "The Married of the Eiffel Tower").

The exhibition presents some sixty works - drawings, lithographs, manuscripts, ceramics and photographs - from the historical collection and the Séverin Wunderman collection - according to the following selection:

Part of the Innamorati will return to its original place in the Musée du Bastion created by Jean Cocteau. This series of 21 colorful drawings represents a couple of lovers in an imaginary setting, inspired by the port of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

The Lovers from the donation Severin Wunderman, such as profiles faced in a passionate kiss, couples sketched at the edge of the sea, the Hindu couples drawn by the artist, exposed for the first time.

Ceramics created in the workshop Madeline-Jolly will be the subject of a presentation in the niches of the museum, which he had designed for this purpose.

Until 22/04/2019 - in the Bastion Museum.

From 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm (except Tuesdays).
