Accessible to the disabled, Diano Marina gets the lilac flag for the second year in a row

Diano Marina is the only municipality in the province of Imperia that has received the important certification in 2018, which attests the city of orange trees in the forefront, as far as it concerns the issues related to accessibility by the disabled in municipal structures, such as beaches, museums and libraries.

Precisely this is the aspect that wanted to underline the president of the cooperative Lilac Flag Roberto Bazzano, who at the press conference organized for the recognition to Diano Marina, underlined how the City, compared to other analyzed, exceeds the average standard. "It is a more than discrete level - he said - compared to other municipalities. In detail, the survey concerned access to public parts for categories affected by four types of disability: those with food intolerances, the blind, the deaf and those with motor problems. On these typologies, four macro areas were investigated: the informative part, then the Municipality website, the infopoint, the supply within the tourism office of material relating to associations operating in the voluntary sector; then mobility, the part relating to parking and the quality of public transport. Still we have investigated the accessibility to sports facilities, both as spectators and as users. In this regard - added Bazzano - we found a very good situation in the building".
