Recipe of the Week: Cherry Jam

Have you noticed?…it is cherry time!

And the perfect way to keep enjoying cherries is making jam!

Here below a healthy recipe with less sugar; if you want a sweeter jam just add as much sugar as the cherries weight. But then, of course, it all depends on how sweet your cherries are….

Ingredients

  • 2 kg cherries
  • 750 gr sugar
  • 1 lemon

Directions

Wash, cut the cherries halfway, and remove the pits. Pour it into a fairly wide pan with high edges.
Add the lemon juice and cook for 20 minutes turning with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Add the sugar and stir.
Let the jam boil for 1 hour-1 hour ½  stirring frequently until it reaches the right thickness. To understand when the jam is ready: just put a teaspoon of jam on a plate, tilt and if it does not quickly slip away then you are ready to go.
