The Guardian's best restaurant picks in the Alps of the Sea

In The Guardian’s recent list of best restaurants in Italy, two restaurants in Liguria made great scores, almost to the top by readers’ travel tips.

Trattoria La Brinca

Trattoria La Brinca

In The Guardian’s recent list of best restaurants in Italy, two restaurants in Liguria made great scores, almost to the top by readers’ travel tips.

A vegetarian choice in Lavagna - actually in Lavagna’s inland at Campo di Ne - restaurant Trattoria La Brinca was given special mention. Local products finely prepared and offered, specialities from the area such as “chestnut flour panella (fritter) with wild fennel, and cheeses from neighbouring farmers” are just a few examples from this unique family-run restaurant.

And then the list goes on with the unexpected Pizzeria Kebab SoleLuna in the Nervi district of Genoa. This Italian restaurant is famous for its pizza and kebab; the internal decor features some of Naples’s most famous faces. One can dine here well for around €20,  plenty of great beer and wine to accompany the best pizza in Genoa/Naples.

Two unexpected and original choices, definitely to be discovered - off the beaten path. Enjoy!
