Not for everybody, just for those appreciating the silence and sounds of the night, of snowshoes in the snow, the thrill of dawn at high altitude.

Start the year snowshoeing

A night in the Ligurian Alps Park, between France and Italy, in the snow, waiting for dawn. After walking for about 4 hours to get to the point of observation, Cima Marta.

Not for everybody, this hike is just for those appreciating the silence and sounds of the night, of snowshoes in the snow, the thrill of dawn at high altitude.

The program:

1.

Meet at  Refuge in Realdo on Thursday afternoon at 6pm to prepare supplies for the night hike and camp in the morning: apple fritters, apple pies and ricotta; using the Community wood oven to bake food for the next day and have it ready;

8pm Dinner

2.

At approximately 1am preparation of equipment and backpacks, distribution of food and materials for the night out; depending on the snow, participants will start directly from Realdo or will move to higher altitude; then towards the top, through the hamlets of St. Anthony, Borniga, Al Pin, Abenin, up to Bassa di Sanson where - after a short stretch on the former military road - the group will turn right on a path that climbs up to Cima Marta; before getting to the top, the group will stop in a sheltered area to  wait for dawn: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, mulled wine to warm up  and the warmth of fire, then apple fritters and cakes ...

Just before dawn, the last effort to reach the top where participants will enjoy an unparalleled 360° view  at the border between Italy and France

3.

Relax back  at Realdo, take a hot shower, change clothes, and rest a while waiting for lunch scheduled at 1pm

Aveto Park is a wonderful place to visit with snowshoes and skis, through mountains, glacial lakes and wild horses.

Aveto and its regional park offers many routes to hike or snowshoe, breathtaking views, or the opportunity to meet the extraordinary wild horses.

The park program includes some guided tours: on January 6th trip through the beech forest of Mount Penna.

On January 22nd snowshoeing from Santo Stefano d'Aveto: sunny path and great views of the valley.

On February 5th, guided by experts around the ring de la Nave, an ancient magical place, while on February 12th a trip towards refuge Cipolla and dinner. On February 26th, the grand tour of Santo Stefano tops starting from Pian Pendin and on March 12th snowshoe hike to Mount Trevine enjoying a priceless view.
