Spring at Hanbury Gardens

A visit at Hanbury Garden, with its 18 hectares of flowers and exotic trees, is just unforgettable - and even more so in spring.

Spring at Hanbury Gardens

Hanbury Gardens, created by Sir Thomas Hanbury in 1867, are located in the Capo Mortola promontory, in Ventimiglia, very close to the French border.

The promontory has an exceptionally mild climate and various microclimates which have enabled the planting and adaptation of plant species from all over the world.

A visit at Hanbury Garden, with its 18 hectares of flowers and exotic trees, is just unforgettable, and even more so in spring. Visitors can enjoy guided tours until June 30th.

Photography lovers can also participate to the “Obiettivo Hanbury” photo contest: enrollment until Sunday May 15th, with the opportunity to choose between two different themes: “More than flowers” and “Landscapes, views, postcard-like pictures”.

The Protected Regional Area of Hanbury Botanic Gardens participates in the Mediterranean Alps project for the candidacy as UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Mediterranean Alps are an outstanding example of geological and biological uniqueness as, in a relatively small area, the whole geological phenomenon of the Alpine orogeny can be found. Furthermore, they are a hot spot of biodiversity, with an exceptional diversity of species and well-preserved habitats.
