The Italian TV presenter Carlo Conti, who in his career hosted five editions of the beauty pageant Miss Italia, has announced that he will take Pippo Baudo’s show as a model for the 2015 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival.
Conti will try to get a good balance between the traditional song contest and moments of entertainment.
“The most important thing is to find 16 good songs,” he explained “Not the typical songs you usually listen to during the Sanremo Festival, but all types of songs.”
The preparations for the 2015 edition will officially start at the end of November, and will continue until the programme is aired next February.
The Sanremo Music Festival is held every year in the city of Sanremo, Italy, and it consists of a competition among previously unreleased songs. The first edition took place between the 29th and the 31st of January 1951.
