The 15th edition of UEFA European Championship - the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organized by UEFA, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016 - is scheduled to be held in France from June 10 to July 10 2016.

For the first time, the European Championship final tournament will be contested by 24 teams, having been expanded from the 16-team format used since 1996.

France was chosen as the host nation on May 28 2010, after a bidding process in which they beat Italy and Turkey for the right to host the 2016 finals. The winning team earns the right to compete at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted by Russia.

The matches will be played in ten stadia in ten cities: Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Étienne, and Toulouse.

Stadia in the south of France celebrated the official announcement that two locations were selected to host a number of matches in the 2016 UEFA European Championship: the Allianz Riviera stadium of Nice and Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome.

Specifically, in regards to the Alps of the Sea area, Spain and Turkey will play in Nice on June 17th at 9pm, and Sweden will compete against Belgium on June 22nd. Additionally, Nice will see Group C’s Poland and Northern Ireland fight for position on June 12th.

Nice's Allianz Riviera stadium is ready to welcome worldwide champions, while the city of Nice and the whole Cote d'Azur is ready to greet and receive all tourists and supporters following the excitement of great European football.
