The 66th Sanremo Music Festival, the renowned Italian Song Festival, is ready to start on February 9th and will run through February 13th.
In December, conductor Carlo Conti announced all singers competing in the Champions category and the title of their song: Morgan and Bluvertigo - Semplicemente, Valerio Scanu - Finalmente piove, Arisa - Guardando il cielo, Annalisa - Il diluvio universale, Zero Assoluto - Di me e di te, Lorenzo Fragola - Infinite volte, Francesca Michielin - Nessun grado di separazione, Patty Pravo - Cieli immensi, Stadio - Un giorno mi dirai, Rocco Hunt - Wake up, Dear Jack - Mezzo respiro, Enrico Ruggeri - Il primo amore non si scorda mai, Alessio Bernabei - Noi siamo infinito, Neffa - Sogni e nostalgia, Irene Fornaciari - Blu, Deborah Iurato e Giovanni Caccamo - Via da qui, Clementino - Quando sono lontano, Elio e le storie tese - Vincere l'odio and Noemi - La borsa di una donna.
Enrico Ruggeri is one of the most famous and well-know Italian singers, he has participated to ten Sanremo Festivals, winning two times, one in 1987 with Tozzi and Morandi singing Si può dare di più and then in 1993 singing Mistero. Stadio, a band born in 1977, has also participated many times to the Festival (1984, 1986, 1998 and 2007). Patty Bravo, the unforgettable interpreter of the song Pensiero Stupendo, celebrates 50 years of career; she is one of the most successful Italian female singers, internationally her most popular song is La bambola - equally unforgettable E dimmi che non vuoi morire, which earned the critics' award in 1997. Morgan comes back with the band that made him famous, the BlueVertigo.
After much suspense, names for the co-conductors seem to be established: great comedian Virginia Raffaele, model and actress Madalina Ghenea, and actor and fashion model Gabriel Garko.
Confirmed are also the Festival's guests: internationally well-known artists Laura Pausini and Eros Ramazzotti; there will also be a much-awaited Pooh reunion and also Renato Zero.
