LEMON FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS !

For more than 15 days, come and enjoy the zest-flavored of Golden parades and Night-time parades(parades of citrus floats and animated by groups), admire the Exhibition of citrus patterns in the gardens Biovès (by day and/or night with the Gardens of lights); not forgetting to visit the Crafts Fair and the Festival of Orchids with unforgettable scents. Come and discover this fantasy world, and move to the rhythm of a simply unforgettable event.

Exhibition of citrus patterns

Dates : From 15^th february to 3^rd march 2020.
Place : Biovès garden (main entrance in front of Casino Barrière).

Opening Hours Biovès Gardens :
Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, on Thursdays from 10am to 7pm
On Sundays from 9am to 7pm

Careful : On saturday 15 february 2020 opening hour à 2pm

Astonishment and amazement

In the Biovès Gardens…Imagine…patterns that can be up to ten metres high…

During the festival, the Biovès Gardens take on dazzling yellow and orange sunshine colours. The decors are incredible, some requiring nearly fifteen tonnes of citrus fruit…

Every year, it takes thousands of hours to create these ephemeral sculptures, with the fruits placed one at a time…

Go into the Biovès Gardens and discover these giant sculptures made of golden fruit according to a tradition that has been carefully maintained since the start of the last century…

Golden Fruit Parades

Dates : Sundays 16^th, 23^rd february and 1^st march 2020.
Place : Promenade du Soleil (seafront).

Meet on Sundays 16th, 23rd february and 1st march 2020 from 2.30pm to 4pm on the promenade du soleil in Menton

It is strongly recommended to arrive on Menton before 12.am. In order to make access more fluid, entrances are distributed along the route.

High-energy parades and colourful celebration

On Sunday afternoon, come to the central focus of this unique event…

On Sunday morning, the town gets busy, with the coming and going of coaches and cars… Like an endless farandole, the crowd moves here and there, stretching out through the narrow streets and finally coming together along the sea front.

Today is festival day! Confetti is scattered against a background of blue sky. Entertainers, brass bands and folk groups wheel, spin and dance between the magnificent citrus fruit floats…

Gardens of lights

Dates : On 15^th, 21^thand 28^th february 2020.
Place : Biovès gardens - main entrance in front of Casino Barrière.

Meet on 15^th, 21^thand 28^th february 2020 from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm in the Biovès gardens in Menton. We advise you to arrive on site at the latest at 9.30 pm, visiting the gardens of lights requiring an hour on average. On the spot in the evening, closing of the desk at 10 pm.

Magical lights and sparkling enchantment

At night, the citrus fruit patterns take on clashing colours…

The patterns light up and unusual sounds combine with strange creatures of light… The gardens take on a new look, a new perspective…

With the play of light, the arrangements stretch out, soar upwards and amaze… Time seems to stand still in a world in which light and sound create a magical, enchanting place of unsuspected splendour…

Night-time parades

Dates : On thursdays 20th and 27th february 2020.
Place : Promenade du soleil (seafront).

Meet on thursdays 20th and 27th february 2020 from 9 pm to 10.15 pm on the promenade du soleil in Menton.

Enthusiasm and a zest of extravagance

A spark of splendour to the parade worthy of the most ambitious street festival

Until dusk, the town seems to hold its breath…It’s all very peaceful, too peaceful…

In the distance, some drums show a touch of impatience, a trumpet replies… A float loaded with citrus fruit appears from nowhere, then another…

Time to party! Brass bands, orchestras, folk groups, dancers and the plain mischievous add a spark of splendour to the parade worthy of the most ambitious street festivals!

In apotheosis fireworks at 10.30pm

Suddenly, the first explosions ring out and light up the night above Menton.
The crackle of the sparks as they fall into the sea signals the end of this moment of extravagance.
