Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival 2017: discover and re-discover the greatest stars of jazz and current talents!

For its 12th edition, the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival 2017 will be taking place between November 16th and December 2nd at the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo.

Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival 2017: discover and re-discover the greatest stars of jazz and current talents!

Since it was founded in 2006, the festival has received the high patronage of H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco, and we would like to thank him for the attention he has unfailingly given to the event.

This festival will allow us to discover and re-discover the greatest stars of jazz and current talents in this wonderful venue, a temple to music and creation for over a century.

The festival reflects jazz music as it is: open to all musical currents, always leaving room for tradition yet without being conservative, taking inspiration from music from all over the world and showcasing creation.

Throughout this 12th edition, we will be meeting the greatest musicians of the time, the loveliest contemporary jazz voices and the greatest soloists.

This programme is in the image of these 11 years of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival. It shows that jazz is still diverse, unrestricted and freedom-loving.

For the opening night on November 16th, the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival 2017 has chosen a monument of music, Marcus Miller, who will present extracts from his brand new album. He shares the bill with Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles.

From Tuesday November 17th to Saturday December 2nd, we will have several concerts performed by the greatest jazz artists of the time, such as Stacey Kent, Dhafer Youssef, Chick Corea and Steve Gadd with their project The Corea / Gadd Band. We will also be paying homage to two legends, as we will be receiving Texas and Christophe. As always, the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival is also the opportunity to discover tomorrow’s jazz, with new formations like the feminine trio Sirius Plan, James Carter’s Elektrik Outlet and new talents like Laurent Coulondre.

Lastly, we will close this festival with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, which will play current hits, rearranged with different musical genres. The Puppini Sisters, considered the best close harmony group in the world, will share the bill.
