Sanremo: Inauguration of first Flower Museum tomorrow

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 8th, at 3.30pm, at "Villa Winter" the inauguration of "Museo del Fiore" - Flower Museum - immersed in the beautiful park of Villa Ormond, among flowers and exotic plants. The program will include an inaugural conference by Mayor Alberto Biancheri, city and regional authorities, as well as representatives of the municipalities of the Riviera.

The working group "Floriseum" will be introduced. It will cure the scientific and cultural program of the museum, coordinated by a scientific committee that has already proposed a series of initiatives to be implemented throughout 2017.

A guided tour of the museum exhibition halls will be available, with a collection of historical records kept by Ester and Ermanno Moro family, pioneers of floriculture. Visitors will be able to explore paths of the park marked by posters dedicated to breeders and growers that have marked the dawn of floriculture. At 5pm, the inauguration of “Giardino libero" – Free Garden - dedicated to Libereso Guglielmi, Italo Calvino’s family gardener and internationally known botanist who recently passed away.
