A great exhibition at Rivoli Castle and GAM: from Tuesday, March 14th to Sunday, July 23rd L'emozione dei Colori nell'arte (The Emotion of art colors) gets to Turin, an exhibition of over 400 works of art from the eighteenth century to present.

Works by Kandinsky, Matisse, Klee, Balla, Munch and Fontana are some of the beautiful pieces of the exhibition retracing the history, inventions, experience and use of color in modern and contemporary Western art, as well as in non-Western and indigenous cultures in the world today.

The exhibition explores the use of color keeping into consideration movements and artistic research that deviate from the traditional theories on color and abstraction.

Works come from the collections of renowned museums such as: Reina Sofia in Madrid, MNAM Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Munchmuseetdi Oslo, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Tate Britain in London, Dia Foundation in New York, AGNSW Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, as well as GAM-Torino and Castello di Rivoli and numerous private collections.

L'emozione dei Colori nell'arte reflects on the topic from a perspective that takes into account light, vibration and the emotional world. It calls into question the standardization of the use of color in the digital age, which reduces our ability to distinguish colors in the real world.

During the exhibition, neuroscientist Vittorio Gallese – who, along with James Rizzolati, discovered mirror neurons - will conduct, for the first time worldwide, a laboratory of neuroscientific study focused on the audience’s experience in front of works of art.
