Trofeo Laigueglia coming up this Sunday!

Trofeo Laigueglia is a men road cycling race held annually in February in Laigueglia, a small town in the Savona Province.

Trofeo Laigueglia coming up this Sunday!

The 54th edition of Trofeo Laigueglia is taking place on Sunday, February 12th, on the roads of Liguria.

The race includes 23 formations: four are World Tour (Team UAE Abu Dhabi, Ag2R, Astana, FDJ), 11 Professional including all Italian and almost all French teams, 7 Continental and the Italian national team led by Davide Cassani.

In this race, the man to beat is Diego Ulissi who will lead Team UAE Abu Dhabi. Additionally,  the race is attended by Thomas Voeckler leading Direct Energie, Andrea Fedi (last year’s winner) and Manuel Belletti (Wilier Triestina) as well as Francesco Gavazzi, once again captain of Androni-Sidermec.

This 2017 edition’s route mirrors that of recent years, with short climbs to Colla Micheri and Capo Mele.

On Saturday, February 11th presentation of the teams scheduled at 3.30pm in Piazza dei Pescatori in Laigueglia. Sunday 12th, meeting at 9.30am in  Piazza dei Pescatori, with the unofficial race start at 10.50am and the official one in Via Roma at 11am, where the race will end at about 3:40pm.
