Night walks along the Romantic Road in Langhe and Roero

"Notturni sulla strada romantica" – Night walks along the Romantic Road - an initiative during the month of August in the Langhe and Roero area with several dates: Tuesday, August 23^rd in Neive, Friday, August 26^th in Vezza d'Alba, Tuesday, August 30^th in Treiso.

The Romantic Road is a journey between past and present, between landscapes and literary suggestions. The route starts at Vezza d'Alba and continues through the towns of Magliano Alfieri, Neive, Treiso, Trezzo Tinella, Benevello, Sinio, Cissone, Murazzano, Mombarcaro and Camerana; 11 stops, 30 itineraries, 130 km of scenic roads, and 300 literary ideas.

"Notturni sulla strada romantica" takes participants along the "Romantic Road" at night, in ancient hamlets’ alleys and the Langhe and Roero hills’ picturesque vineyards - a UNESCO heritage. Participants meet at 8.45pm (beginning at 9pm) usually in the main square. A torch and comfortable shoes are recommended.

During the walk - a loop, mostly-paved path that does not exceed 5-6 km, suitable for all age groups - a stop will be dedicated to a brief and engaging entertainment/performance based on the walk’s theme. Then, at the end of the walk, a nice tasting will be provided.

Additionally, on Tuesday, August 29^th, a walk to Murazzano titled "The Saracens towers” in collaboration with Medieval Langa is planned. Guest at the event: Professor Paolo Sapienza, author of "Medieval Langa - A project to promote the area". At the foot of Murazzano’s tower, he will outline the history on the origin of this and other similar buildings around the Langa area.

Meeting point is in Piazza Umberto I at 8.45pm. After the walk, wine tasting at the winery Anna Maria Abbona di Farigliano will follow.
