Monet and Bordighera in an exhibition through January 2016 in Turin

The "Monet Exhibition" in Turin opened on October 2nd, 2015 and will conclude on January 31st, 2016.

The "Monet Exhibition" in Turin opened on October 2nd, 2015 and will conclude on January 31st, 2016. It completes the trilogy dedicated to Impressionism which began in Turin in 2012 with Degas and continued in 2013 with Renoir. The last leg of this journey is dedicated to Monet, father of Impressionism.

The exhibition covers various themes, treating visitors to Impressionism landscapes and portraits where the true stars are light and color. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the vibrant Mediterranean light that fascinated Monet in Bordighera - a beautiful coastal town in Western Liguria - and allowed him to perfect his art reaching the top of his career. In fact, in Bordighera (1884) , the Master of Impressionism conducted a unique program of study and research (fifty paintings) on colors and emotions, from which thousands Bordighera emerge, grasping the meaning of the city.

The "Monet Exhibition" in Turin spurs renewed interest in the extraordinary beauty of this corner of Western Liguria and lures visitors into revisiting and retracing the artist's work directly through this area's nature, enchanting gardens, exotic plants, palm groves, and olive groves.

Sponsored by the City of Turin and Skira editore, the exhibition will be held at GAM – Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin, whose long-standing collaboration with the Musée d’Orsay has made it possible to bring forty of Monet’s masterpieces to the Piedmont capital.
