#Monaco's twins Baptism will take place on May 10th

This year will be unforgettable for the Grimaldi Family: weddings and baby boom overjoyed the Palace of Monaco. The next event is already marked in the calendar and the newborns will be protagonists: Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella will be baptised on May 10th at the Monaco Cathedral.

All residents of the Principality may be present in the itinerary that will take the children from the Cathedral to the Palace, a walk that will bring back memories of that unforgettable itinerary made by the princes Albert and Charlene, on June 27th 2011 on their wedding. For those who can not come to Monaco, it has been announced that the ceremony will be televised.

Since last January 7th, when the official presentation of the twins took place and they overlooked for the first time on the main balcony of the Palace in presence of most of the Grimaldi family, we have not seen the Prince's children, who came to the world on December 10th.

56 years passed since Monaco baptized an heir, Prince Albert, who held the title of Marquis of Baux, sleeping peacefully in the arms of Princess Grace, while a round of applause rained on him on the afternoon of April 21st 1958.

"I ask all your affection for the crown prince," then said the prince Ranier in a historic event which will be lived again very soon, as the one held in both the formal presentation and the baptism of Albert II, who was born March 14th, 1958 and had Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain as godmother.

After the meeting of May 10th, the family will be gathering again for the wedding of Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo and in this year of joy surrounding the descendants of Rainier and Grace of Monaco, July 11th represents also the ten-year reign of Albert II anniversary, another moment to enjoy the family and its people.

During the celebrations of July 11th on the occasion of the decade of the sovereign on the throne following his father Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, in April 2005, it was agreed that the Monegasque people will deliver the gift for the twins to honour their baptism.
