Autumn with Taste: Cuneo archives the summer and prepares for the new batch of events

The event circuit “Autunno con Gusto” (“Tasty Autumn”) is an occasion to encounter a unique gastronomy in the framework of a hospitable territory, rich in history, culture, traditions, heart-breaking mountains and uncontaminated nature.

Autumn is surely a period of the year that surprises us with its colours and invites us to taste its delicacies which will pervade our senses, evoke memories, scents, sensations and induce us to go through ‘greedy’ itineraries - nothing but euphoria for those who love the Earth’s good products.

 

The Province of Cuneo is proud of its clean, genuine land which offers high-quality local products without having to compromise with an intoxicated environment: wines, cheeses, cured pork and beef meats, snails, fresh fruits and vegetables like pumpkins and leeks, from potatoes to chestnuts, from mushrooms to the lamb of the town of Sambuca, without forgetting - of course - the buckwheat polenta.

 

These great products have begotten important feasts and events such as the “Mostra del Fungo” (“Mushroom Exhibition”) in Ceva - which has established itself as this year’s “National Fair” -,  the “Fiera Regionale della Zucca” (“Pumpkin Regional Fair”) in Piozzo, the “Bagna Caoda Feast” in Faule, the “Leek Feast” in Cervere, the “Fiera Nazionale del Marrone” (“National Chestnut Fair”) in Cuneo and the historical “Fiera Fredda” (“Cold Fair”) in Borgo San Dalmazzo. Don’t miss out the “Fair of the Raschera d’Alpeggio and of the Bruss” in Frabosa Soprana - the first event of the circuit -, the “Roumiage de Septembre” in Monterosso Grana which will see the singer-songwriter Cristiano De André perform, the “Festa del Bon Vin” (“Good Wine Feast”) in Farigliano, “Muu-cultura” to ‘milk’ and “Bee-formaggi” in Villanova Mondovì, “Le Notti delle Streghe” (“The Witches’ Nights”) in Rifreddo, the traditional “Mostra della Pecora Sambucana” (“Exhibition of the Sheep of Sambuca”) in the fort of Vinadio, “Sapori della Carne” (“Flavours of Meat”) in Cuneo’s MIAC, “Aj a Caraj” in Caraglio, the “Capon Fair”  in Morozzo and the numerous chestnut feasts that will animate the whole month of October.

This is merely a selection of the 79-strong events that will accompany us from the Southern Piedmontese Autumn to just before the Holy Advent, when for the 107th time the “Fiera Nazionale del Bue Grasso di Carrù” (“National Fair of the Fat Ox of Carrù”) which will take place on 13th December.
