Monaco: The Nutcracker by the Moscow ballet

One of the most popular ballets in the world, the version of "The Nutcracker" created by the Moscow Grand Classics State Ballet is a colorful and magnificent masterpiece that celebrates music and authentic choreography, in the festive atmosphere of the winter season.

BerinArt, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco and the Moscow State Grand Ballet conducted by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov are pleased to present the enchanting NITROKOVSKY Nutcracker ballet.

The producers through their creativity have carefully conveyed the fascination of the fairy tale while introducing the spirit of a romantic mystery and true feelings. This exceptional and magical performance will definitely seduce children and adults. This production has kept the famous choreography of Vasily Vainonen with the dance of the dolls, the waltz of the snowflakes, the waltz of the flowers and the Grand Pas de Deux performed by the main characters. In contrast, the first act has undergone a complete adaptation in a new version of Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilyov. It includes the procession of guests along the streets of the snow-covered city, a joyous hustle and bustle under the Christmas tree, young people running and the tribute to the older generation. The public is always delighted to see the king of seven-headed mice appear, mistakenly forgotten by the other variants of the "Nutcracker" ballet.

In 1977, Natalia Kasatkina (master ballet master) and Vladimir Vasilyov (general and artistic director) joined the classical Moscow ballet. Today, the company has 63 dancers and its exceptional creative potential is highly recognized by European, American and Russian critics. Many of their ballets have become jewels of Russian and world culture. It is one of the largest and most prestigious Russian ballet companies, which, according to reviews, joins in the same line with the Bolshoi and Mariinsky companies.

Performances 28th - 30th December 2018, 8pm.
