Tourism and sport: the strong wind on the Ligurian coast favors windsurfing and kitesurfing

Windsurfing is a sporting activity as well as a sailing specialty that consists in moving on the water on a board mainly thanks to the determined propulsive action of the wind on a sail, even if in some particular cases the main propulsive action, contrary to as commonly believed, is generated by the waves (so-called wave riding in a manner similar to wave surfing, with the sail of small size intended to act only as a complementary element to the overall thrust. 

Kitesurfing or kiteboarding or more commonly "kite") is a newly invented sailing sport (1999), born as a variant of surfing, consists in being driven by a kite, which uses the wind as a propeller and which is maneuvered through a "control bar" (bar), connected to the kite by thin cables (four or five) of dyneema or spectra called "lines", long between 22 and 27 m.
