Magical Land of Christmas in Govone, near Alba, for family and kinds

Just to 26 December, the small town of Govone in the province of Cuneo, at the foot of the impressive Savoy castle turns into the Magical Land of Christmas with lights and entertainment for adults and children. The main part of the festival takes place in the magical surrounds of the park of the Savoy residence which is in the Unesco World Heritage list. From the House of Santa Claus to the mechanical nativity scene, the typical flea markets along the boulevard that leads to the Castle in a kaleidoscope of colours and aromas and tasting of the culinary delicacies and regional handicrafts.

Even this year you can taste the specialties of the area at the Locanda (Inn) that offers traditional dishes and selected Chalet street foods, which use local ingredients such as the chickpea flour for Tantì farinata (porridge), Hamburgers of Piemontese (Piedmont) cattle breeders, the Plin and the Tajarin Cuisine of the Langhe with sauces made at the moment. There are also vegetarian delights, lots of typical desserts, and the Enoteca di Natale (Christmas Wine shop), a space completely dedicated to wine.

The Magical Christmas Village, which is at the heart of the municipality of Govone (Cn), also involves the municipality, Comune of Canale, where the craft and gastronomy market is set up with over 40 exhibitors (on Sunday the 3rd, 10th and 17th of December from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). This year's novelty is the train that brings tourists to the discovery of the Nativities of the territory, starting from Piazza San Bernardino.

Since 2015, the Castello of Monticello d'Alba (Castle) has become part of the Magical Christmas Village. The Castle dominates the area from the top of a hill and is characterized by three impressive towers and a park that make the place even more fascinating. On Saturday the2nd, Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Saturday 16th, the Castello of Monticello d'Alba dresses up to welcome "A Fairy Tale Christmas!”
