Let’s Fall in Diamonds, an art installation in Monaco

This is total art. Not merely an optical effect, but a complete immersion in an original interactive experience.

Let’s Fall in Diamonds, an art installation in Monaco

For his first temporary art installation, starting on October 14th at the Casino de Monte-Carlo, Charles Kaisin has created a scenographic work based on a motif of red and white diamonds, a powerful symbol evoking both the Royal family’s coat of arms and the world of card games.

The principle: a “camouflage” installation, with the entire Atrium and Rotunda of the Casino de Monte-Carlo given a dramatic new look, some 1400 m2 of diamond-patterned fabric adorning the legendary venue’s Art Deco decor, from the floor and walls to the furniture, fixtures and fittings…

This is total art. Not merely an optical effect, but a complete immersion in an original interactive experience.

Stimulating all the senses

On arriving, visitors are immediately pitched into a perplexing environment, where space appears multiplied to infinite proportions. A specially created fragrance is gently diffused, imprinting itself on each visitor’s memory as they move through the space to the rhythm of the musical ambience, custom-designed by a Belgian DJ.

From there, you’re free to head in whatever direction the fancy takes you, wandering the Atrium, the bedroom and bathroom areas, relaxing in the living room with its sofas, armchairs and pouffes, or taking a seat at one of the two tables set for 12 guests in the dining room, perhaps finishing with a red and white Diamonds cocktail at the Rotunda Bar.

A meeting of two worlds and two arts

This journey into the worlds of Art and Gaming brought to you by the Casino de Monte-Carlo, is also a meeting between the creative savoir-faire of Charles Kaisin’s teams, and the artisanal and culinary expertise of the men and women of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.

For the “Let’s Fall in Diamonds” installation, the decor, furnishings and works of art are all drawn from the company’s iconic heritage (casino, hotels, restaurants). Over 600 pieces have been specially decorated for the occasion, each one bringing history back to life in a defiantly contemporary new red and white skin that preserves and sublimes all at once.
