"David Bowie. The Real Face" exhibit in Imperia

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 25th at 5.30pm the exhibit opening with important guests from the music and Italian Pop Art world. Sunday 26th a lecture on photography with Settimio Benedusi.

M.A.C.I. Contemporary Art Museum in Imperia is getting ready for two event-filled days.

Tomorrow, Saturday 25th, the inauguration of “Progetto Tempo '17", a new temporary exhibits project alongside the permanent exhibition of “Lino Invernizzi” collection which will host in succession three artistic proposals

Each exhibit will include a special inauguration: much more than a vernissage, but a true event, enhanced with DJ sets, live music, and meetings.

The season begins with a tribute to the most influential music icon of the past 50 years: "David Bowie. The Real Face " - Saturday, March 25 to Sunday, May 7. The halls of Villa Faravelli will host prominent members of Italian pop art led by Marco Lodola, renowned artist for his light sculptures. Additionally, Settimio Benedusi, Andy Fluon, Giovanna Fra, Bianca Lodola, Alfredo Rapetti Mogol, Sergio Pappalettera who will each give his personal contribution to the timeless figure of the White Duke.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 25th at 5.30pm the vernissage, with the artists participation, live performances and DJ sets. Special guest Red Ronnie: critic, journalist and music expert, as well as author of the historical interview with Bowie, during which the singer signed the famous "real face" - which gives the the exhibition its title, and that will be on display for the occasion. It is the original cast of Bowie's face, made in 1975 during the filming of the movie “The man who fell to Earth” (1976), and sold at auction at Sotheby's in the 90s.

On Sunday, March 26th, the exceptional presence of photographer Settimio Benedusi, who will give a keynote address, "The History of Photography" at 11am.

Finally, starting Saturday, March 25th, M.A.C.I. will open to the public with a new schedule. Opening hours for permanent Collection of Modern Art "Architect Lino Invernizzi" and temporary exhibit "David Bowie. The Real Face":

  • Friday 4-7pm
  • Saturday 10am-1pm and 4-7pm
  • Sunday 4-7pm
