New Year’s Eve cake
Ingredients:
- gr. 80 raisins
- 60 shelled walnuts,
- gr. 70 sugar
- gr. 60 breadcrumbs,
- gr. 35 shelled almonds,
- gr. 30 pine nuts,
- gr. 40 candied citrus,
- Half a glass of Marsala wine
- Pastry dough (bought or previously prepared)
Directions:
Finely grind the pine nuts, walnuts, almonds and candied fruit. Add the breadcrumbs soaked in Marsala and raisins previously soaked in hot water. Roll the pastry dough into a think layer and fill it with this mixture, then shape into a large tarallo. Brush with egg yolk and bake. When cool, sprinkle with icing sugar and cinnamon.
