First Monte Carlo Gala - for the Oceans

In June 2006, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco established his Foundation to address our planet's alarming environmental situation. The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale. The Foundation supports has already supported 70 projects mainly in the Mediterranean basin, the Polar Regions, as privileged indicators of climate change evolutions, and the Least Developed Countries. Main goals of the Foundations are: to limit the effects of climate change and promote renewable energies; to safeguard biodiversity; and to manage water resources and combat desertification.

Every year, the Foundation also honors men and women who have exceptionally committed for the planet. Additionally, as part of its fight against deforestation, the Foundation now has one of the best practice guide for an eco-responsible yachting, which will be distributed to all participants at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show .

Although the industry of pleasure boating has already made commendable strides to reduce air and water pollution, the Prince Albert II Foundation Guide calls for accelerating and strengthening this trend.

On Saturday, October 1st, during the Monaco Yacht Show, the Foundation is organizing the first "Monte Carlo Gala", a prestigious evening in a unique setting. All revenues raised at the event will go to the Foundation’s initiatives for the protection of the seas and oceans.
