Marina degli Aregai harbor is hosting the 2016 420 World Championship

Marina degli Aregai - in Santo Stefano al Mare, on the sunny Riviera dei Fiori – is ready to host a great event: the 2016 420 World Championship.

Taking place July 15-23 2016, the Championship will open with three days of registration and equipment inspection, practice race and Opening Ceremony, before 6 days of racing kick off on July 18 with a qualifying and final series.

The 2016 420 World Championship will be organized by Sanremo Yacht Club in partnership with the Italian 420 Class Association, Federaziona Italiana Vela and International 420 Class Association.

The 420 World Championship incorporates three separate World titles:

• 2016 420 World Championships - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.

• 2016 420 Ladies World Championships - is open to teams of all ages. Each nation is entitled to 7 boats, with 14 boats for the host nation.

• 2016 U17 420 World Championship - is restricted to athletes aged 16 and under at the end of 2016. Each 420 National Class Association is entitled to enter 6 boats (3 boats men or mixed and 3 boats ladies) and the host NCA entiteld to 12 boats (6 boats men or mixed and 6 boats ladies). All entries to the U17 World Championship will race in one fleet. If there are less than 30 entries the U17 fleet will be included in the respective of Worlds and Ladies fleet.

Boats are competing in the beautiful Mediterranean sea for nine days of sport and passion.

The harbor, designed and built according to the model of the modern "Marina" has 980 berths, 6 to 50 meters.

There are excellent facilities such as boutiques, restaurants, mini bars, gym, sailmakers, nautical agencies and a shipyard.

Marina Aregai allows also direct access to the famous coastal greenway cycletrack along the Italian Riviera - one of the most beautiful in Europe - with its 24 km by the coast.
