Bordighera: Tales and legends

Every Tuesday evening, until August 30th, thanks to the expertise of a tour guide, participants will visit the old town of Bordighera, beginning at Sant'Ampelio Church, and then climbing to 'Marabutto', walking past the town hall, and finally getting to the historical town center. Participants will be entertained with tales about palm trees, Magiargè and his legend, Charles Garnier, father Viale and the 'Belle Epoque', painters and writers, popes and pirates, Queen Margaret and Reverend Bicknell, in addition to the very special story of the 'Magnificent community of the eight places', that of Sant'Ampelio and the Casino.

On Claude Monet's paths

An easy guided walk along the sites painted by Claude Monet.

The master of Impressionism, in 1884, while searching for new inspirations, was captured by Bordighera's extraordinary natural beauty, magnificent gardens and hills with exotic plants, palm trees and extensive olive groves, and the vibrant and intense light of the Mediterranean sea.

Itinerary: Via Romana, Upper Town: the ancient Bordighera, The path of "Beodo"

Every Monday afternoon until September 5th

Bordighera's parks and gardens

Walk through the gardens, full of exotic species, including rare and giant trees, where British tourists used to stroll or live in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Visit the Bicknell Museum, magnificent setting to discover Clarence Bicknell, a local flora's botanical illustrator and researcher.
