Villa Pergola opens its doors until October

The botanic gardens in Alassio, set upon a hill overlooking the Mediterranean sea, open their doors until October.

Villa Pergola, 22.000 sq.mt of Mediterranean maquis dominated by the Villa and detached house – colonial style late nineteenth century's architectural masterpieces - can be visited on weekends until October 2016.

The villa has been retreat to illustrious English nobles, the Scottish general McMurdo, Virginia Woolf's cousin, and Daniel Hanbury (Hanbury Gardens' family).

Villa Pergola's visit winds through nineteenth-century fountains and rock pools, while enjoying sea views in the distance.

Throughout the month of June, visitors can admire the largest agapanthus collection in Europe, the flower of love, in its full splendor. White hydrangeas, lantana, oleanders, water lilies, and lotus flowers are in bloom as well and offer an exceptional natural display.
