A Protocol of Intent between the City of Sanremo (Department of Tourism, Culture and Events), and the Committee for Culture of the city of St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) has been recently signed in  St. Petersburg.

On April 20th, in fact, the deputy mayor Leandro Faraldi, the Head of Tourism Daniela Cassini and the President of the Symphony Orchestra Foundation Maurizio Caridi, traveled to Russia for the official signing.

This result was made possible by the efforts of Marat Pavlov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Genoa, who cares deeply about the cultural, economic and tourist links that St. Petersburg is able to weave with foreign countries.

The protocol has a three-years term and promotes the development of art and international cultural co-operation in the field of music, dance and fine arts, as well as museum exchange.

Although this is only a beginning, it actually is a consolidation of relations that already exists: the Russian orchestra, in fact, has been playing concerts in Sanremo for a long time now and it has established an important relationship with the Symphony Orchestra Foundation.

The document supports the organization of St. Petersburg-Sanremo joint cultural events such as festivals, art exhibitions and creative performances, and promotes also the cooperation between museums, theaters and orchestras.
