The annual Herb Fair in Rollo

The Herb Fair near Andora, in the Savona province, every year pays tribute to the important presence of aromatic herbs in this area. This year the fair takes place on June 18th-19th.

The village of Rollo, perched between the province of Savona and Imperia - a popular holiday destination today and a strategic lookout towards the sea in the past - has been creating the opportunity, for a number of years now, to get acquainted with medicinal herbs and ancient plants, and their uniqueness due to growing on hills near the sea.

The Herb Festival, besides broadening the knowledge related to the herbs of this land, has also contributed to the historical and cultural configuration of the herb sector.

In fact, nurserymen bring a wide selection of aromatic plants, medicinal and perennial, and innovative cultivars to promote passion for experimenting with plants. One of the objectives of the fair is to promote interest on "botanical collections”, to enrich and share the wealth of knowledge on the immense biodiversity universe and to extend people's curiosity.

It is in fact curiosity, novelty, joy, and commitment that have driven people every year to attend this event. The festival, year after year, has involved more and more people and acquired a broader resonance in the Liguria region and within the industry - growers and producers from Liguria and other regions of Italy. It has enticed scholars, artists, photographers, journalists, collaborators, and friends to get together and explore this magic and unique world of Liguria inland's medicinal and edible herbs.
